Adopted!
New Name:
Age: Adult
Sex: Female
Breed: Miniature Schnauzer
Weight: 15.12 pounds
Current Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Adoption Date: January 9, 2022
Adopted by: Debbie Williams
Latest Update:

Nothing but clear skies ahead for little Miss Hazy! Debbie Williams is a friend of LSDRR’s very own Trish Liscom and promptly fell in love with Hazy the minute she saw her rescue picture. Debbie has waited patiently for several months to adopt her, and today was the big day. When Debbie and her granddaughter Jasmine came over, Hazy showered them both with kisses. She will be the princess of the home, being loved and spoiled by both Debbie and her partner Steve. They are keeping her name and she already has a bed, a plethora of toys, treats, and her very own personalized name tag. Let the spoiling begin!

About Hazy:
A soft spot for Schnauzers I will always have. Our bidder fell in love with this girl, so she was chosen as one of the lucky ones.
They gave us no birthdate on her. She is just listed as 5 years old. Her color is listed as cream/brown which of course isn’t a color that Schnauzers come in, but welcome to mill owners and what they produce.
Formerly # 77

UPDATE 12/4/2021

We sent Hazy to stay with foster mom Beth, this girl has been through a ton and needed to have a very quiet soft spot to rest. Beth sends us this update:

“Little Miss Hazy is settling in nicely. She’s met my pack without a hitch and is my constant shadow. She’s eating good and taking her meds like a champ. What an adorable and especially sweet girl she is! It amazes me when these mill dogs experience the worst of humanity, live in pain and neglect, yet are so forgiving and appreciative of the love and care they receive when they’re rescued. It’s an honor to love and care for them. ❤️”

UPDATE 11/30/2021

Not all decisions are easy in rescue, not all decisions are painless. On the weekend Hazy began shaking in pain, nauseous her mouth bleeding and oozing pus she was rushed to the ER where she has remained for several days. She was already diagnosed with thyroid issues and was on thyroid medication. She was then treated with two different kinds of pain meds and 3 different antibiotics. Her ALT for her liver skyrocketed and she went in for an ultrasound of her liver where we learned the biggest complication was that she was pregnant and obviously was bred a day or so before she went up on the auction block. Here’s the problem, Hazy is sick, her mouth is rotten and now she’s been given multiple medications that cause birth defects, we need to stabilize her and she needs to go to surgery to remove these rotten teeth. A decision had to be made about what to do, spay her or not, and just work on her mouth. We took all things into consideration and determined that Hazy is the most important thing. She’s got to get this toxin and infection out of her blood stream and we felt the odds of these babies being adversely affected from all of this was extremely high so we opted to spay her too.
Dr Reno called me after the surgery and said it was absolutely the best thing to do. There were two puppies that are embryos but they were already not normal their vesicles were formed together and they would never have survived. She said the pregnancy was toxic and the pups had no chance and Hazy needs to recover.
Hazy now has it all behind her, her mouth has all of the toxins removed, she is on the path to wellness now, and that’s what’s most important.
