Javadi’s life has completely transformed — from living in a cage with no family to joining a very large, loving one with Chris and April Lewis. She’ll now be known as Nellie, and she’s stepping right into a home full of furry siblings: Bugsy (a proud foster fail), plus Josie, Piper, and Leroy, the family’s cats.
The Lewis family has loved and lost several dogs over the years, and Bugsy had been feeling the absence of canine companionship. Nellie arrived at exactly the right moment to fill that space. Because dog ownership has always been a family affair, Chris and April brought their daughter Alex and granddaughter Addy along to meet her. Their home in Murphy, TX, was literally built with dogs in mind, so Nellie is moving straight into comfort, care, and luxury.
With their extensive fostering experience, the Lewis family immediately recognized what we already knew — Javadi is a gem. Within minutes she had mastered the doggy door and discovered the toy bin, which might as well be a treasure chest in her eyes. What more could a girl want?
We shared information about Happy Tails, and something tells me this family will be frequent posters, much to everyone’s delight.

Terrified is what I see, it is so scary for them, to be dragged out of their cage of their run where they come from, tossed into a loud auction house with a blaring auctioneer over the loudspeaker while they are lined up on a table facing them yelling audience. I always think back to the day that Bessie was on that table, and Pinkie too. Every one of our adopters who have taken home one of these lucky dogs I am sure all feel the same way.
This girl was born on 4/4/22 just having her 4th birthday living this life. Sister to Mel.
