Adopted by: Alyssa Fox
Latest Update:

Jaycey’s journey has been a long one, but her happy ending is here!
At first, we were focused on rescuing Jaycey. You may remember that the shelter located her family, who were supposed to reclaim her—but when they didn’t, Jaycey found a safe temporary home at the Sanctuary.

Since early November, we’ve been working closely with Alyssa Fox on her application for Jaycey. The process took longer than expected because Jaycey went into ISO with a stubborn upper respiratory infection. Alyssa received regular updates, but each time we had to postpone her adoption.

Today, the wait is finally over—Jaycey is heading to her forever home in Tomball, TX! She’ll be joining a loving family with a work‑from‑home mom, an adult brother, and a furry sibling to play with. While we don’t yet know her new name, we do know she’ll be cherished.

About Jaycey:
11/13/25 Pupdate:
We checked in with the Sanctuary staff about Jaycey’s personality, and they had nothing but praise. She’s described as very, very sweet and smart. Jaycey gets along well with other dogs and listens attentively—she does what’s asked of her without fuss. Her energy level is on the laid-back side, but she’s emotionally intense and deeply connected to her people.
Jaycey doesn’t like being alone and will cry the saddest little sound from her den when she’s left behind. One of her quirkiest traits? She’s absolutely obsessed with the reflection of light from a cell phone and goes wild trying to catch it.

We were asked if we could take this dog several days ago from the shelter. Then it was cancelled because hooray her owners were found. It’s so rare and dogs like this are very lucky….
But wait… her owners were found but didn’t bother to come and take her home.
I just imagine myself in this scenario, the shelter calls to tell me they found my lost Bessie Pearl, how fast would we all drive to the shelter to retrieve the dog we lost, and that we love so much.
Yeah, these people are not like us.
She’s here with us now and she’s very sweet and very cute and hopefully will have a new family very soon.
