Breed: Dogue de Bordeaux
Current Location: Galloway, Ohio
Adoption Date: August 21, 2020
Adopted by: Mary McCarthy and Ruth Moyers
It was love at first sight and we love it when that happens. Jim Ho and his captivating eyes drew their attention. Mary McCarthy and Ruth Moyers had recently lost a Bordeaux named Truman and have a Bordeaux at home named Millie who could use a friend, and Jim Ho loves to play.
They boarded plane this morning from Galloway, Ohio, (how about that for a coincidence on a home town name)
They drove to the Ranch and met their new bear and will drive him all the way back home. Mary and ruth have been to the Ranch before when they came for the opening of the sanctuary, they reflected on getting to meet Daryl and Travis said these ladies are just a perfect match for Jim Ho as usual Laura strikes gold.
They are undecided on what his name will be but I’m sure we will learn that on the happy tails page.
No more running loose as a stray unwanted Jim, you have a family of your own now for the rest of your days.
Happy life everyone ❤️
We got a call last week from a good samaritan saying that a stray french mastiff was wandering her neighborhood for the last couple days and she was finally able to catch him. It’s a pretty rare breed so I wasn’t sure to believe her but she sent us some photos and sure enough she had herself a red bear. What’s even stranger is that this boy was running loose in our own backyard of McKinney. He’s young and healthy, not in terrible shape in the least, and had a collar on him but no tag. We had her take him over to the Collin County animal shelter for the mandatory stray hold so if he was actually lost an owner could reclaim him. Well… his hold came up the other day and no one stepped forward so I (Travis) went down there to get a quick evaluation on him and take him back to the ranch. So far he’s doing very well with the other dogs with no issues. Just needs a little experience so we’ll handle that. We’re naming him after firefighter Jim Hosinski from Minnesota, Jim and his wife Heidi are previous adopters and we wanted to honor Jim’s work as a first responder.
