Brad and Laurie Christiansen of Wylie, TX reached out hoping to find a companion who could keep up with their rambunctious Frenchie, Levi. Like many Frenchies, Levi loves to play hard, so we looked for a dog who could match his energy and enthusiasm. Jocasta—now Jojo—immediately came to mind. She adores being with her people and also had a grand time romping with the dogs at the rescue.

To make sure it was the right fit, we arranged a meet & greet between Levi and Jojo, and it went wonderfully. Levi was a bit humpy with all the excitement, but as they settled in and got to know each other, things began to calm down. Mom and Dad assured us they’d keep an eye on it and stay consistent with corrections if needed. And for anyone curious, our staff uses a variety of gentle corrections at the Sanctuary—calling their name, redirecting their attention, or occasionally giving them a brief “air jail” break (a quick pick‑up to reset their behavior).

We’ve already heard that Levi and Jojo are playing beautifully together, which is exactly what we hoped for. Jojo, enjoy your new life, sweet girl—you are so loved.

Meet Jocasta🪻 This bonny girl is sure to be a fierce companion to whoever gives her the love she deserves. She is playful at times, but most of all she likes to be around to give your shadow a break from time to time, and earn herself some head scratches. How can you resist? Whether we’re scooping poop in the yard, or sitting on the patio, she’s sure to be nearby smiling up at you. Bonus: she likes to lay with her legs under her, so she looks like a roast chicken when she naps 😂

She just turned 5 at the beginning of the month, we can only hope she gets that many years on the other side now that she is with us. She’s listed as a Cream female with no other details.
