Johnny Cash (now Malachi)
Our boy Johnny Cash came to us as a stray all the way from Arkansas, alongside his sweet sister June Carter. Since then, he’s spent 4 months , 16 weeks , 115 days with us—winning hearts, wagging tails, and patiently waiting for his forever home.
Today, we’re overjoyed to share that Johnny is off to Oregon to start his next big adventure! He’ll be the only dog in his new home, which means all the cuddles, hikes, and snuggle sessions are just for him. After a rough start, this boy is finally getting the life he deserves—full of love, attention, and endless tail-wagging joy.
His new mom, Katti , is already head over heels, and we can’t wait to see updates on Happy Tails . 💌
Safe travels, sweet Johnny Cash—now proudly going by Malachi. Your journey has just begun.

About Johnny Cash:

5/27/25 UPDATE:

Meet Johnny 🐾

A handsome, loving Doberman with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This sweet guy is a total lovebug with people — he thrives on attention, cuddles, and playtime with his favorite humans.
Johnny’s a smart cookie who already knows how to sit and can catch toys like a pro! One of his all-time favorite things is playing fetch, he’ll keep you entertained.
When he’s not running after a toy, you might catch Johnny indulging in his favorite hobby: singing to the squirrels. It’s his way of serenading the backyard. ☺️Johnny is food motivated and eats like a champ. He’d thrive best in a home where he can be the leader of his pack, as he doesn’t bond well with other dominant males. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and loyal companion who will keep you laughing and loved, Johnny is your guy.

Johnny and June were dumped out on the streets in Arkansas and wandered for a week before someone stepped up to seek rescue for them.
