Let’s see just how many times we can fit Kevin into this adoption story! Kevin Knight and Page Sema first reached out about Cashew, but she was already adoption pending. They patiently waited until the right dog came along—and that’s when Kevin contacted us about… Kevin.

The main question was how Ivy, their current Frenchie, would respond. Ivy is a confident, dominant girl, while Kevin the Frenchie is very easygoing. We didn’t want him to be overshadowed, so Eva shared a few training tips with Kevin the human to help guide Ivy. Consistency was key, and sure enough, Ivy caught on quickly—just a few corrections at home and she understood the new balance.

We love seeing adopters embrace training and put it into practice! Kevin told us it already feels like Kevin the Frenchie has been part of their family forever. And now, to end the Kevin confusion, Kevin has officially been renamed Knox—a wise choice indeed.

Here’s to Knox, Ivy, and their wonderful family. We can’t wait to see them featured on Happy Tails soon!

About Kevin:

This little man was found wandering on a country road with no homes between Howe and Tom Bean. Lyndsey picked him up, placed posts on all of the lost and found pages, and waited, but nothing. She was told to contact us, I spoke to her last week, asked her to take him to the shelter, scan him and file a report with photos of him. She did all of that and nobody is looking for him. The stray hold is legally up so she brought him to us at the sanctuary this morning where we will begin vetting him and finding him a forever home. He is a sweet little guy and he is now safe.

Thank you to Lyndsey for doing all the right things in looking for an owner, not handing him over to any random person saying “they will take him” and seeking help from a rescue that will make sure he is going to be safe, and neutered and medically taken care of.
