Latest Update:

Adoptions really do seem to come in pairs lately — and we couldn’t be more grateful. Today it was Lola and Perlah’s turn to head home together with the Hensley family. Having previously loved and cared for two Frenchies who have since passed, the Hensleys know this breed inside and out — the medical needs, the quirks, and yes, the stubborn streak. But when you’re a true Frenchie person, it’s hard to imagine bringing anything else into your home.

Melissa Hensley traveled from Austin to spend the holiday weekend with family in Bedford and to scoop up these two sweet girls. She arrived with her mother and her daughter, Hannah, and together they whisked Lola and Perlah off to begin their new chapter. Their names will stay the same, and we can’t wait to see their updates on the Dog Ranch Rescue Happy Tails page soon.

Happy life, sweet girls — your adventure starts now.

About Lola:
Owner surrenders, The story we are told is they were moving and cannot take them, they had homes lined up for them and the folks backed out at the last minute.
What we are told about their health and what we find after exams is the following.
The blue Frenchie is Tank, he is a great big boy at 47 pounds and 5 years old, we were told he has allergies but Apoquel keeps it under control, healthy otherwise. What we found is a head tilt that has been there for 2 years, badly infected ears, a low grade heart murmur, had a bout with seemingly IVDD but thankfully steroids helped him recover. He most likely has an inner ear infection causing the head tilt and will need to see a dermatologist, he will need to have a CT done and see if he needs a Myringotomy. He has had a couple of seizures in his history but they seem to be idiopathic, and at this time no medication needed.
Lola has a hernia that needs to be repaired and infected ears, both of them need a dental.
This folks is how taking in owner surrenders that are seemingly healthy and up to date on everything turns into thousands of dollars in vetting, it’s just that simple.

Lola:

The literal definition of a perfect lady. Has such a gentle nature to her that it melts your heart. She’s incredibly patient, calm, and super loving that isn’t too much in your face. Will respect your space. While she can be a little protective of small spaces with a big crowd around her every now and then but it’s rare. 99% of the time she is easy going, just sunbaths and likes to be cuddled up by your feet. She gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and carries a soft energy wherever she goes🩷
