Malarkey is pure fun wrapped in a Frenchie body—full of adventure, joy, and zero hesitation when it comes to loving every person and dog she meets. Will and Ursula Cirksena originally applied for Land Sakes, but she was already pending with another adopter. Knowing their family would be a wonderful match, we reached out to recommend Malarkey instead. They were immediately interested, but wanted to meet her—as well as Pepe and By Gum—before making a final decision.
Ursula brought along Bodhi, their 11‑year‑old Frenchie, to see how everyone meshed. They described Bodhi as a boy who loves to play, snuggle, and chew bones, so we wondered if any of our pups might be a bit too much for him. But Bodhi walked in ready to party. He was bright‑eyed, confident, and absolutely up for meeting new friends.
After the meet and greet, Ursula stayed overnight with her parents—who still live in the Dallas area—to think things over. What she didn’t know was that we already knew the answer before she did. Malarkey was simply meant for them.
Ursula returned the next day to make it official, and we already had Malarkey’s adoption bag packed and waiting. They’re still deciding on her new name, with Olive and Luna currently at the top of the list.
Malarkey will now live her best life in Driftwood, TX, alongside Bodhi and Maui, their German Shepherd mix. Her days will be filled with playtime, snuggles, and all the love a dog could hope for—and we can’t wait to watch her grow up in her wonderful new family.
We have a couple of Frenchie sisters in our mix, this is the first sister who just had her first birthday and will only have the rest of her birthdays loved as a pet.
