This was one wild and crazy adoption from start to finish! Once Travis Youngblood of Fort Worth, TX, was approved, he wanted to meet Claudine, Poppycock, and Marquis—so we told him to come on out. We opened the lobby door and let the whole crew tumble in, and it was instant pandemonium. Dogs running, jumping, spinning, and creating the kind of joyful chaos that makes everyone fall head‑over‑heels for a Frenchie.

After a tough decision, Travis chose both Poppycock and Marquis, and we can’t wait for his kids to meet them and fall in love too. The excitement didn’t stop there—on the drive home, we placed them in the backseat, but Poppycock had other plans. She marched herself right into the front seat like she owned the place. Once home, she took about eight full laps around the backyard in the rain before coming in for a much‑needed bath. Marquis was the calmer of the two, but something tells us Poppycock will make sure he joins in the fun soon enough.

They’ve already stepped into their new lives with new names: Marquis is now Fry and Poppycock is Leela—perfectly fitting for a pair inspired by Futurama.

This sweet, fun little Frenchie has quite the story. Marquis came to us as part of an animal cruelty case and spent time in the shelter as evidence before finally getting his chance at a better life. Despite it all, he’s nothing but love.

Marquis is a very laid-back, go-with-the-flow kind of guy. He is happy to play when you’re up for it, but just as content to lounge nearby and keep you company. He’s simply enjoyable to be around.

He loves his toys and chews and will happily entertain himself, but his true weakness? Head scratches. Instant best friend status.

More than anything, Marquis wants to be someone’s sidekick. He’ll follow you around, hang out by your feet, and be your little shadow throughout the day. He’s got a great appetite, an easygoing personality, and a whole lot of love to give.
