Maurice is a big, handsome boy who had all the girls swooning—but it was Robin (and Daryl) Ostrander who truly captured his heart. You might remember Maurice as one of the two dogs cruelly thrown from a car. He was also heartworm positive at the time.

But now, Maurice is getting the last laugh! He’s headed to his forever home in Austin, TX, where he’ll be living a life of luxury with his very own pug posse: Paulette, Sophie, and Busy. And yes—he’s keeping the name Maurice because his new family absolutely loves it!

We can’t wait to see that charming Frenchie face featured on Happy Tails soon!

UPDATE: HE IS GOING THROUGH HIS HEARTWORM TREATMENT AND WILL BE READY AFTER MAY 23RD.

Be prepared to have disgust for the human race again after you hear his story.

Got a request from the Irving shelter for this boy who was seen throw out of the car on the highway, in addition he wasn’t thrown out with his Frenchie friend who was subsequently run over and killed.

Remember when French Bulldogs were popular? remember when they were so highly desired, remember that?

Well, now they are thrown out of cars on the highway.

Ricky went and picked this boy up today and brought him to the sanctuary, he is a big boy at 34 pounds, he is also sick with heart worms. Because if you’re such a crappy owner that you throw Frenchies out of a car on a highway why would you give your dog heart worm preventative.

I think I’ll go throw up now.
