How about a Thanksgiving Day adoption?

Lucky boy Merle Haggard has a family of his own for the first time in his life. Lisa and Rocky Stovall from Royce City Texas recently lost their Bordeaux mix and love the breed. They have 4 fenced acres at their home and Merle would be a king. Royce woke up early this morning at 4:00 am so excited to come and get him he wanted to arrive at 6:00 am. He had to wait about 4 more hours but it was worth the wait.

Merle’s new name will be Odie and he is indeed a very lucky boy. Who would have thought just a few weeks ago he lived outside in a run never knowing how much his life would change.

We wish them all a very happy life together.

About Merle Haggard:

Merle was the only male rescued along with sisters Reba, Tammy, and Dolly. He has quickly realized that the Sanctuary is FUN! He loves to hang out with the other dogs and pose for pictures for the staff. Merle is such a young boy at only 1 year old and deserves an awesome home to share his fun-loving personality with.
