About Mimi:
She was found in March 2025, skinny and starving. They were able to find the original owner but he did not want her back. The lady said she’s spent about $2000 to get it healthy, but she could not afford to keep her. Her 1st birthday was Feb 24 2025
Great with other dogs and kids, she loves balls. Her name is Mimi and she will come to that name. It’s sad to take her away from the only person who has ever cared for her but we understand if she cannot care for her any longer. We will take it from here and fin the perfect home for her for the rest of her days and we are so thankful there are people out there that would help a dog like this and then send her off to find a forever home.
UPDATE….
Mimi is a special needs dog, and most likely always will be but we have some things we are working out. She has an appointment to see an internist in a couple of weeks, the first thing on the agenda is she has a stricture about an inch inside of her rectum, does that cause her to feel like she needs to strain to poop? we don’t know maybe.
She has also had her GI panel come back with positive for cryptosporidium and clostridium. She has been placed on antibiotics for this. This may not ever be able to be fully cleared. Basically Mimi is an IBD dog and will require a lifetime commitment for her to be as healthy as possible which is what we are striving to accomplish. The stricture in her rectum will need a procedure to stretch that out, the internist will be doing that. After that it’s going to be tackling her IBD with medication and diet and hope we can get her to a healthy place. Right now she’s thin and she doesn’t feel good and we don’t like that at all.
We hope the internist brings us some good news for her and I will update you on all of that when we have our consultation.
