One of our cranky old ladies has officially headed off to a home where she’ll be loved, protected, and absolutely doted on. Mrs. Muir is now living in Keller with Diane Martin. We especially appreciate when vet references highly recommend an adopter—it makes our decision so much easier, and Diane was one of those shining applicants.
Mrs. Muir won’t be lacking for companionship. She has a mountain of toys waiting for her and two furry siblings to show her the ropes: Louie, an 11‑year‑old Frenchie, and Henry, a 2‑year‑old English Bulldog. We’ve already heard that Louie took it upon himself to teach her how to use the doggie door on day one, and she wasted no time exploring every corner of her new home.
Diane is still deciding on a new name. She’s a fan of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, where the captain affectionately called her Francesca—but that’s quite a grand name for such a tiny girl. Frankie may end up being the perfect fit.
From being a used‑up breeder girl left at a shelter to landing softly in a home where she’s truly cherished… what a beautiful turn of fate. Happy life, sweet old gal. You deserve every bit of it.

Just so very sad, and cannot fathom it for a minute but it seems pretty clear these old girls were used up in the puppy making department so they were dropped at the shelter. One is 10 and one is 7…….I can’t even…
The shelter reached out to see if we would take them, Ricky drove out early this morning, gathered them up and drove them to the sanctuary. Let’s hope they don’t get too sick from the shelter at their age. Both girls will be isolated for a couple of weeks.
