Latest Update:
Today Oui met her new daddy. She is going to live with Steve and Susan Wenograd in Chesterfield, VA. Steve flew in to pick up this precious girl and they will be flying home in first class. The Wenograd’s were supposed to be Unity’s forever family and they were devastated when we lost her to distemper, we hoped that a little tiny chihuahua would once again come into the rescue and when Oui came in we knew it would be a match.
Steve spent some time shopping for new items that will make her flight more comfortable. Every girl needs a pretty new harness, sweater, and blanket right? Once home she will get to meet the rest of her family which includes a 6 year old little girl as well as Toast (DRR alumni) the chihuahua and her 10 year old German Pointer mix brother Tyrion. The family is so excited to begin spoiling Oui the way she has always deserved. Her new name is Petunia which fits her adorable personality perfectly. They are already on the Happy Tails page so we will get to watch Petunia as she goes on adventures with her forever family. Enjoy your new life Petunia!
This tiny girl was born on 1/22/21, so she’s about 10 months old and she’s already been bred. She is only 4 pounds and in our opinion too small to breed, but the public demands tiny dogs, so if that’s where the money is that is what they produce. She will go directly to Maternity Manor with Jenn

UPDATE 12/15/2021
I wanted to give you an update on Oui. She had her first birthday yesterday at Jenn’s house. As you might know she came to us from the mill auction advertised as having been bred. Looks like the breeding date was about a week before the sale. We take lots of things into consideration when we are dealing with a potentially bred dog. First and foremost Oui was 11 months old when bred, secondly she weighs 3.5 pounds, third she immediately became sick with an upper respiratory infection, low albumin and a very high white blood cell count and was put on meds to try and get her well again. All of this going on while she is potentially bred. The decision was made that she is too young, too small, and too sick for us to even think about her having a litter. She is on antibiotics to get well and as soon as she is she will be taken to surgery for a spay.
The mama dog, or the potential mama dog always comes first.
