Latest Update:

Peach has found her forever home! Her new mama and daddy are Nancy and Bill Huyten of Fort Worth, TX. They are so excited to bring Peach home and introduce her to her four fur sisters. The Huytens have always had rescues, including two former mill mamas who have since passed on. So, they have a lot of patience and understand the needs of a dog like Peach. They think their 1 year old Pom/Chihuahua/Terrier mix will be a wonderful playmate for her. Peach will now be known as Allie and they promised to keep us posted on the Happy Tails page. Happy life sweet girl!
Meet Peach, a creamy colored, Pomeranian who is 1 year old. She is shy, but very sweet and gets along well with all the other dogs.
UPDATE 2/24/2020
Our little Pomeranian we rescued at auction is so very afraid of humans. She just had her first birthday and on her birthday Karla took her home to foster her and try and help her get past her fears.
Karla sent this update after she had her for a day or two to tell us what she sees with her in her home:
“She’s got a ways to go. This morning I sat with her in my lap for about 5 minutes. She hated every second of it. When I put her down she went into what seemed to me like a panic attack. She threw up her breakfast and was panting. It took her a bit to calm down. I’ve pretty much left her alone since then. We’re working in the backyard and she’s coming and going from inside the house. She’s very curious, but has zero trust in humans. She doesn’t sleep much because she wakes up to every little noise she hears. Last night I had to cover the fireplace doors and our glass tv cabinet doors with blankets because she barked at her reflection non stop. She’s going to need a very patient home”
This is the reality of so many dogs that have come from a mill where they have zero positive experiences with human touch. She is young and we will remain hopeful as Karla continues to work with her.
UPDATE 3/8/2020
Karla has sent us this update on Peach and how she is coming along from being so afraid of humans and previously she would not play with anything nor would she play with other dogs..
Peach will come to me for finger licks, but not petting yet. If she is in her bed, I can now walk over to her and she will show her belly for scratches. We still cannot pet her if you approach her when she’s out of her bed. She plays some with Ollie and Upside Down Cake. She is eating well and loves her bed. Since the rain, potty training is hit or miss I take her out frequently and she will pee outside, but a lot of times she will pee again when we go back in. I’ve never seen her poop outside, and she does unfortunately poop inside. It’s a work in progress.
