Not too long ago, we took in five dogs during our “surrender a Frenchie to DRR” phase (or it seemed like that to us!) — Claudine (the mom), her boys Hugo, Pepe, and Luc, and little Pascal, who wasn’t related to any of them. We’ve been taking our time getting each one healthy and ready for the wonderful homes they deserve.

Today was Pepe’s big day. His new family, Danita and Jorge Rodrigues‑Pires, previously adopted Chenille — a very shut‑down girl who needed extra time and the help of her foster mom, Ana, to come out of her shell. Danita shared that it took quite a while for Chenille to feel safe in their home, but now she has blossomed into a completely different dog.
Pepe, on the other hand, wasted no time at all. The moment he walked into the lobby and met his new mom and brother, he made it clear he was all in. This tiny little guy is more than ready to soak up the love of a real home, and something tells us he won’t be looking back.

He’ll be keeping the name Pepe — it suits him perfectly — and we can’t wait to see his updates on the Happy Tails page.
