Latest Update:

Handsome boy Pronto is finally off to his new home. This dog has so much personality, he’s the bestest boy and he’s most certainly a staff favorite. Pronto was found bedded down in a field, with a severe shotgun wound to the leg. When a Good Samaritan saw him lying there, they promptly loaded him into their car and dropped him at the nearest ER. That’s when they contacted us. We happened to have plenty of space for him at the time, and who could possibly resist those eyes of his? You would think that a dog that has suffered such an abuse by the hands of humans would be fearful, hesitant, or reserved, but Pronto is certainly none of those things. He has an unbreakable spirit, and from the moment he limped through those Sanctuary gates, he was simply a delight to all who encountered him. Big dogs are especially hard to find homes for, and even after all his vetting was complete, we were left searching for quite some time. That’s when we got an email from Melanie and Troy Foster. They adopted Beast (Jim) and Belle (Angela) from our Office group, and they were quite literally the perfect family for the both of them. Beast recently passed, he was an old man, a gentle giant, and a staff favorite when he was here. He will be missed greatly. Melanie and Troy had a big Beast sized hole in their heart, and maybe a Pronto would be the perfect dog to fill it. After some phone conversations, hearing about his wonderful personality, they made the decision to drive all the way from Arizona to pick up their boy and take him home. We couldn’t be more grateful because we know our special fluffy boy is in the best hands. By now he’s home with them, probably napping peacefully knowing he’s home safe. He’ll have sweet Belle as a companion for the rest of his days. He’s happy, healthy and home, and though we will miss him dearly, we know our job is done. Melanie and Troy have yet to pick out a name for him, but I’m sure we’ll hear all about it on the Happy Tails page. So long Pronto, we all love you more than you’ll ever know, and thank you so much to Melanie and Troy, for promising to take care of him always.

About Pronto:
We were asked by an ER veterinarian hospital if we would help with those big boy. As you can see he was shot pretty significantly on his back end, he was a stray so who knows who shot him and why. Estimated to be a couple years old, and I am sure you can also see how gorgeous he is. They dont take them to surgery for this kind of birdshot as it’s more damaging to go digging them out than it is to leave them alone so he will always have these. He is able to move just fine, he is just very painful, bruised and sore.
Will you welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Pronto.
