Rhoda was the last of the TV‑show‑name group to be adopted—not because she wasn’t wanted, but because she developed an eye ulcer that required three separate trips to the Veterinary Ophthalmologist. Dog Ranch Rescue is committed to making sure every dog receives the best possible care, even when that means delaying an adoption for a little while. Thankfully, the Milby family of Terrell, TX, were more than willing to wait for her.
Today was finally her day, and the excitement was unmistakable. Robert, Ashley, and their son Ty made the trip, and Rhoda immediately melted into Ashley’s arms, doing that quintessential Frenchie yoga stretch to snuggle even closer. It earned her smiles, laughter, and so much love. When we walked out to the car, they showed us a basket of goodies they’d brought for her—including a wooden charcuterie board shaped like a Frenchie.
Her name will stay Rhoda, and as if her new family weren’t enough, she’ll also have a 7‑year‑old Labradoodle waiting at home to become her new best friend.
We can’t wait to see updates on this sweet girl. She was a favorite at the Sanctuary, and watching her head off to her happily‑ever‑after was the perfect beginning to her newest journey.
