Ruben

Sometimes dogs wait longer than we expect for their forever home, and we don’t always know why. In Ruben’s case, we suspect it might have been his cute little crumpled ear. Some people look for “perfect” Frenchies, but rescue isn’t where you go to find perfection—it’s where you find dogs with quirks, character, and maybe a flaw or two, who simply want a family that loves them exactly as they are.

Ruben needed a family who thought that ear was absolutely adorable, and he found that in the Del Cioppo family of Austin, TX. Thomas, Somer, and their almost‑six‑year‑old son Bruce had lost their pug three years ago—on the very same date they adopted Ruben. It felt like a full‑circle moment, the kind that makes you believe some matches are simply meant to be.

His name will stay Ruben, because it suits him perfectly. He’s already on his way to living the best life with his new family, and we hope to see his sweet face on Happy Tails soon.
