Serenity arrived with significant skin issues but an irresistibly sweet personality. Melissa and Curtis Forbes of Lakeway, TX, reached out eager to adopt her, though the process took a little longer than expected. She needed time in ISO, and her lingering URI delayed things—but with regular medicated baths, her skin began to heal beautifully. By the time adoption day came, it was hard to even tell she’d struggled at all.

The Forbes family brought their two daughters and their current pup, Coda, to meet her. At first, Serenity showed a bit of dominance with all the extra excitement in the room, but once everyone stepped outside for a walk, the energy shifted and the dogs settled in as if they hardly noticed each other.

Her name will likely remain Serenity, though she may pick up the nickname “Reni.” We’ve already put the family on notice to share updates on the Happy Tails page—we can’t wait to see what adventures they’re up to now!
