The Barnes home feels a little emptier now—except for their three beloved Frenchies! The last puppy to leave was Spicy Mandarin, who made his way to Forney, TX, to join Kyle and Elizabeth Ware and their two Frenchies, Ranger and June Bug.
The meet-and-greet went smoothly, with the biggest surprise being Spicy’s impressive jumping skills—he quickly discovered he could leap onto their low-profile couch and wasted no time rolling all over it! It might take a day or two for Ranger and June Bug to adjust to this energetic new addition, but we’re sure they’ll be best buddies in no time.
Now going by the name Toby (which we think is adorable!), he’s off to enjoy an exciting puppyhood. Wishing you all the best, Toby! We—especially the Barnes—can’t wait to see updates on Happy Tails soon!

The Barnes home now feels quiet and still,
Except for three Frenchies with love to fulfill.
The last little pup, Spicy Mandarin bold,
Set off for Forney, a new tale to be told.
Kyle and Elizabeth welcomed him in,
With Ranger and June Bug, his new furry kin.
The meet-and-greet brought laughter and cheer,
As Spicy leapt high—his skills were clear!
Onto the couch, he bounded with glee,
Rolling and tumbling for all to see.
His playful spirit, so wild and free,
A rambunctious pup as he’s meant to be.
Now called Toby, a name so sweet,
A new adventure, a life complete.
Grow strong, little one, with love so true,
The Barnes (and us) can’t wait for news from you!

Here’s what foster mom Terrie says about this boy:

He is rambunctious and a big lug for a puppy. He plays nonstop until he sleeps. He isn’t intimidated by my girls and will play with them. He eats very well and sleeps through the night. He will go potty outside when brought out there but not potty trained. He is a smart boy and has figured out the doggy door. Great face, soft fur. Little bit of naughty that you would want from a puppy!

UPDATE: Spicy Mandarin lives up to his name! Always ready for action, he’s like the energizer bunny—full of energy and always up for playtime. When surrounded by other puppies, he’d much rather engage in playful antics than cuddle, but once he finally settles, he sleeps soundly. Spicy and his sister, Ranch, do a great job holding it overnight and waiting to go potty outside their enclosure, though he’s not fully potty trained just yet. He’s still small enough to fly, but not for long—this big pup is growing like a weed and won’t stay tiny forever!
