You might remember the picture of him with rubber cement all over his legs and chest, surrendered to a high-kill shelter in south Texas. He was brought to the Ranch where Jessica and I groomed and shaved him free of the glue. Steve was such a shy shut down boy who really needed some safe home time so foster mom Kim came and got him immediately and gave him just that. After he settled down, he came to the Ranch to experience other dogs and be socialized; we needed insight as to what kind of home he needed.
Dara Wandel from Arlington, Texas is that home. Kim took Steve over for a little introduction and Dara was smitten. He had a little trial run for a couple of nights and Dara informed us that Steve was home! We don’t know if Steve will remain his name or if it will change ,but maybe we can hear about that on the Happy Tails page.
For now we are just so very happy to wish him a perfect, happy life.
About Steve:He was surrendered by his owners down in the valley, and was covered in what we’re told was rubber cement. He’s a one year old Schnauzer, small, scared and very shy, but oh so sweet. When he was transported by our wonderful transport volunteers, I was able to shave off his matted hair, and I suspected – he’s a handsome boy! His preliminary tests show he is heart worm negative. For now he will stay with foster mom, Kim, and we will all get to know this darling boy.
Your life is changed for the betters now. Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue, Steve.
