Age: Adult
Sex: Male
Breed: Doberman Pinscher
Weight: 65.1 pounds
Current Location: McKinney, TX
Adoption Date: January 20, 2021

Latest Update:

Stewart was adopted by our DRR volunteer Belinda Kinney and her husband Chris from McKinney, TX. He will be their only dog and will enjoy having their full attention as they both work from home. Their previous dog Shiner passed away about a year ago and they were just now ready to open their hearts again.

About Stewart:
Raquel is a person we work with down in the valley that transports dogs for us sometimes. She contacted us about this Doberman that was being surrendered to the shelter by its owner in Weslaco. She said the shelter he was in was not doing adoptions and all dogs could only get out through rescues only. She asked if we would please take him and she would bring him up to us and that he is a sweet boy.
We said we would be happy to help, she has picked him up and will transport him up to us when its convenient for her in the next few days.
We will be naming him Stewart Lee Hickman Jr. who passed away from covid very suddenly. He left behind a loving mother, brother and wife. He loved what they affectionately call nerd stuff. He was very well known in the toy world and left a huge hole.
We send our sympathies to his family.

Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Stewart.

UPDATE 1/2/2021

Stewart has arrived at the Ranch, he is a beautiful Doberman, very tall with a beautiful head and coat. He seems to me to be very young, he is a silly baby boy. Stewart came to us already neutered, he gets along with all other dogs, he is goofy and playful and needs a home that will give him lots of exercise and a social life.

UPDATE 12/18/2020
Stewart came to us neutered already so that won’t need to be addressed, he is in isolation with all of the other rescues that came from the valley, some have come down with upper respiratory infections and some haven’t. He is one who has not, he is a stinker, and playful and into trouble over there, a mischief maker is what I guess you would call him. He appears to be young and looking for a good time.

Once the isolation time is cleared he will be ready to go, we need applications for him so we can find his forever home.

UPDATE 12/7/2020
Travis is calling out a gem alert on this boy. If you might recall he was an owner surrender last week in the valley and the shelter was closed for adoptions so he could only be rescued. Our transporter in the valley, Raquel, found out about him and asked if we could take him, the rest is history.
Travis had these notes on him:
Super sweet, low energy and shy, did slightly growl at wild puppies in his face but he was very scared and subdued while doing so, totally normal. Covered in fleas. Filthy ears. He’s also a physical stunner and a gem. Perfect bite, great confirmation and tall.
