Tigra had a bit of a road trip ahead of her as she made her way to her new home in Los Alamos, NM, where the rest of her family—and her new fur sibling, Winston (affectionately known as their “Chunky Monkey”)—were waiting to meet her. Thankfully, Tigra isn’t exactly petite herself, so we weren’t too worried about Winston bowling her over!
Her new family, the Bests, includes dad Jeremy, mom Jennifer, and two energetic kid, Alexander and Adelynne, who are sure to keep Tigra on her toes. And it’s not just people and pups in the household—Tigra now shares her home with a rabbit named Juniper, a gecko named Elinor, and a lively flock of 13 chickens. It’s safe to say the Best family has a big heart for animals, and we’re thrilled that Tigra gets to be part of such a loving, bustling home.
She made the drive like a pro, snoozing most of the way in her new car seat. Since arriving, her integration has been going beautifully. House training has been a breeze, and she’s already learning how to sit! She and Winston even went on a walk together—one of our favorite ways to help new doggy siblings bond.
The family is trying out the name “Chloe” to see if it fits, and we can’t wait to hear what they decide. Whether she stays Tigra or becomes Chloe, one thing’s for sure: she’s found her happy place.

We don’t see them, or get them very often. This is Tigra, her coloring is called reverse brindle, normally in a brindle the dark hair is dominant with gold highlights, this is just the opposite the gold is prominent and the black is the highlight. She is a very sweet girl that gets long well with a ll dogs and all people.
