Trapper

Catherine and Randy Hooper from Albuquerque, NM have adopted from the rescue multiple times. They recently lost two of their Bordeaux’s very close together, DRR Ruby from cancer and DRR Teague unexpectedly from bloat a week later. Their other DRR dogs include, Mork (English Mastiff), Jeffy G (Bordeaux), Jace (Doberman), Xena (fka Sandy Cheeks), and Chico (fka Saguaro). The family lives on 5 acres, giving their dogs plenty of room to run and play. They reached out about adopting Dijon, who you may recall, was returned to the rescue a few weeks ago due to being too scared. He is a young boy, maybe a year or so old, who found himself in a shelter, and will need lots of patience to bring him out of his shell. The Hooper’s are very experienced dog owners and are up to the challenge. They also were interested in adopting Radar but the unimaginable happened and Radar needed to cross the rainbow bridge. The family talked it over and still wanted to give a puppy a home. After some discussion, it was decided that they would adopt both Trapper and Hawkeye. Having puppies around will certainly heal their hearts from their recent losses. All 3 boys will be keeping their names. The family will now have a total of 12 dogs. Sounds like the perfect dream, a house full of dogs to love. Dijon and the puppies sniffed each other and wagged their tails before hopping in the truck for a 10 hour ride to meet the rest of their new family. We are so happy for all of them.
