Collette Dufrene from Arlington, TX, was searching for a dog who could keep up with her 7-year-old Boston Terrier, Rigby. Rigby had lost her companion the year before and had been missing a playmate ever since. Collette reached out about Umami, sent over a home video, and we received her excellent vet references. After reviewing everything, a meeting was scheduled. The introduction went wonderfully, and Umami went home with them for a trial visit to be sure it was the right fit in her home! A couple of days later, the adoption was finalized. Margot is the leading contender for her name, but no matter what she’s named, we know she’ll be loved and well cared for forever—and Rigby will have a new partner in crime!

Umami is a petite black Standard Poodle with a big personality! This brilliant, affectionate girl is as sweet as she is mischievous. She’s full of energy and always ready for an adventure, whether it’s playing fetch, going for a long walk, or figuring out how to get into things she probably shouldn’t.

Umami came to us after finding herself in a shelter in Arkansas. She was nearly 10lbs heavier, covered in matted fur that did not seem to have ever been trimmed before. She is grateful for a fresh start and has made her way to the Ranch to meet even more dogs and people! She is friendly and playful and would love to be a part of an active family. Umami is estimated at 2-4 years old.
