Uncle Fester

After a long stay with us, Uncle Fester is officially on his way home with Kenneth and Courtney Distelhorst of Amarillo, TX. Courtney shared that he slept in her lap the entire drive back, completely relaxed and content. His easygoing nature will make settling in with his three new fur siblings—Roxy, Ruckus, and Ragamuffin—a breeze. And with a lineup of names like that, what will his new name be? Fester, of course. It just fits him!

Fester, your days of being neglected or wandering as a stray are over. From here on out, you’ll be loved, cared for, and kept warm, for the rest of your life. Have a happy life little man!

In the flurry of today with adoptions, fund raising auctions, rescuing numerous dogs at a dog auction this guy was picked up by Emma at the shelter today. He has been on stray hold for a few days and today he was released because of course nobody was looking to say “he’s my dog”

Never have we seen anything this bad, I don’t even think he will have ears left once doctors get their hands on him, I do not know why he has this, I do not know anything about his past. What I do know is his vetting will be at a minimum 10,000 I cannot imagine we can do anything besides TECA’s in both ears, I foresee that is what we should expect. Sadly there just aren’t enough funds to cover a dog like this and his expenses will have to hang out on the credit card until we get enough donations to pay it.

Eva said he is very, very sweet and just wants a hug, as you can imagine, he smells absolutely horrific so hugs can only be given in small quantities.

Nothing to do but take him in, do anything and everything we can to vet him and see if we can’t find him a home.
