Finding a single bottle of Blanton’s Straight From the Barrel can be a challenge. Building a collection that brings together all eight individual stopper letters makes this an extraordinary offering and one of the most exciting collector sets we have ever been able to include in a Dog Ranch Rescue raffle.
Produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery, Blanton’s Straight From the Barrel is bottled uncut, non-chill-filtered and at natural barrel strength, with the proof varying from barrel to barrel. It is the boldest expression of the Blanton’s Single Barrel family.
Expect a powerful, full-bodied bourbon with layers of dark chocolate, brown sugar, toasted walnut and dark cherry, followed by a rich palate of blackberry, dark caramel, seasoned oak and cinnamon spice. Each bottle is a single-barrel whiskey, so every one brings its own subtle variations in proof and character.
But there is another reason this particular collection is so special to us.
In Memory of Rally
The little girl you see pictured with this collection is Rally.
She came to Dog Ranch Rescue carrying far more medical problems than any little dog should have had to endure. When we shared her story, our Village did exactly what it has done so many times before: you rallied around her.
Donations came in to give Rally every opportunity we could give her. We hoped that with enough medical care, enough resources and enough determination, we could somehow get her to the other side.
Sadly, some things are beyond even the enormous collective will of this Village.
Rally was ultimately found to have a very large cancerous mass on her heart, and despite everything being done for her, she could not be saved. Her loss was heartbreaking—not only for those caring for her, but for the thousands of people who had become invested in this tiny dog’s fight.
So our most extraordinary bourbon collection seemed like the right one to carry her name.
There is something especially fitting about a complete set whose individual pieces come together to spell one name. Rally’s rescue was much the same: hundreds of individual acts of kindness came together for one little dog.
We couldn’t change the ending of Rally’s story. But we could make certain she knew care, compassion and love while she was ours—and the funds raised in her memory can give the next Rally her chance.
